A solo painting exhibition of works by Zahra Navaei

TEHRAN – December 21, 2015. Dastan’s Basement is pleased to invite you to the opening of Zahra Navaei’s solo exhibition on December 25. The exhibition will be open for public viewing through January 2, 2016. This is Samira Eskandarfar’s first solo exhibition in Dastan’s Basement.
Zahra Navaei studied sculpture at university and most of her work is in this medium. Nevertheless, she has always been fascinated by painting. Her desire to experiment in this medium to study lines and colors and apply these experiments to her sculptures works, has been an important factor in shaping the present works. Portraits and figures are the highlights of these works. These works were drawn without using live models or photographs and Zahra Navaei believes the presence of figures in these works to be the results of her “unconscious” mind.
